It’s important that our interiors are both stylish and, as we remain in the depths of winter, energy efficient where possible. Because of this, we make it our mission to be able to offer a range of options for all budgets, aesthetics and tastes. If you’re interested in giving your home a refresh as we see in the new year or you’re simply keen to make the most of the winter savings that accompany Duette blinds, why not explore the benefits of these stylish curtain alternatives?
Energy efficiency
Rising energy costs have made energy efficiency a top priority for customers, particularly during the colder season when we reach to turn our heaters on, with the knowledge that a nasty energy bill could be coming our way. Luckily, blinds and shutters are a proven way to save energy; they are typically low cost and when considered with other building energy efficiency measures, they can make a real difference. The fabric has been engineered with a unique honeycomb structure to act as an insulating barrier by trapping pockets of air, preventing the chill from creeping in via the perimeter of your windows. This significantly reduces heat transfer between the interior and exterior of your home to keep your room toasty during winter, reducing heat loss and blocking up to 99% of UV rays. Equally, during those sunnier winter days, open blinds benefit from the free energy from the sun and once they’re closed, they provide extra insulation to reduce heat loss, saving energy and money. In summer, the process is reversed. Closing the blinds during the day stops heat building up in your room while opening them during the evening when the temperature is cooler allows some of the heat to escape. Have control over the temperature of your home without having to do so much as flick a switch.
Energy savings
It is this efficiency that leads to great energy and financial savings, particularly at this time of year. New independent research by the University of Salford’s Energy House Labs has demonstrated that blinds and shutters can reduce heat loss through windows by up to 33%. Commissioned and funded by the British Blind and Shutter Association (BBSA), the data shows that window blinds and shutters can have a significant positive impact on energy savings. Several types of shading products were tested on a modern, double glazed window. Just one of these was the roller blind fitted with zip side channels with low-e fabric which reduced energy loss by 33%. The blockout honeycomb blind was designed in a framed bead fit system so gaps were minimised resulting in an energy loss reduction of 32% and 28% with internal plantation shutters. With rising heat and energy bills, having energy efficient blinds could help you cut costs this winter; refresh your interior and keep your home insulated while avoiding those damp and draughty window panes.
Duette range
At Blinds4All, we have a large selection of Duette blinds designed to suit every home while providing brilliant energy savings. No matter the design, shape, or look of your window, we pride ourselves on being able to provide a range of options to suit you.
Duette TruFit
This particular blind is completely drill and screw free as it is fitted directly to glass, making it a popular option for glazed sections of windows and doors. There are two side profiles that stick to the left and right side of the glazed section of the window with 3M adhesive. The blind has four feet in total, one for each corner of the blind, which simply click into place onto the profile, with tension cords running from the top to the bottom of each side. The Duette Trufit blind is handle operated, creating an added safety aspect to this blind as it avoids loose hanging cords. Because it is fitted directly to glass, it’s the perfect option for tilt and turn windows, French doors and Bi-folding doors while being suitable for PVC, aluminium and wooden frames. Available in a large selection of colours from elegant oyster grey to the more eye-catching bright spring and with room darkening and dim out options, you are guaranteed to find a blind here that seamlessly marries with your interior.
Handle Blinds
Another blind we offer at Blinds4All are our Duette handle blinds which can be used with Duette double layered fabrics. These attach via two rails which attach to the frames or beads of the window with neatly concealed brackets. Just like the Duette TruFit, this blind is also handle-operated, allowing total control of your shading by moving in a single direction. Depending on how you install the blinds, you can operate from either bottom up or top down. Our handle blinds are also available in a range of colours designed to suit the interior of any home, no matter your colour or design preferences. Having the ability to marry style with the benefits of energy efficiency means your home can be both beautiful and temperature controlled so you stay warm this winter without incurring extra costs on your heating bill.
SmartCord
One more Duette blind option includes SmartCord blinds. Their revolutionary operating system uses a retractable cord mechanism which means the cords move smoothly to raise and lower the Duette shade with exceptional ease to meet your comfort and safety needs. The constant cord length means there are never any long dangling cords to detract from the appearance of the shade, ensuring safety in your home, particularly around pets and young children.
